"The book ""Journalism in Jharkhand"" attempts to present a historical narrative of journalism in the state. In doing so, it tries to answer several questions such as the status of journalism in the past, changes in techniques and writing styles, changes in the meaning of news, growth in readership, progress of research in journalism, and the rise of citizen journalism in the state.

The book is based on interviews with various stakeholders, ranging from pioneer senior editors who started newspapers in Jharkhand to the hawkers who have been selling newspapers for over 50 years. It aims to expand the knowledge base of young journalists and instill a sense of pride in them. Additionally, it intends to present the hitherto unexplored dimension of Jharkhand to the outside world."
