Ambreen Zaidi is an award-winning journalist and military writer, honoured by the Honourable President of India for her impactful work on war widows. With extensive experience in storytelling and social advocacy, she is a dedicated voice for soldiers, war widows, and disabled veterans.
She has been a columnist with The Times of India, where her long-running column Barracks & Beyond illuminates the untold stories of military families.
Earlier, she also wrote Olive Green and Our Heroes for Hindustan Times, both focusing on the Indian Armed Forces.
Ambreen is the author of several acclaimed books, including Warrior Widows, Soldiering On: The Remarkable Resilience of India's Disabled Soldiers, and Through Her Eyes... Jottings of an Army Wife. All her books have been translated into Hindi and several other regional languages.
Her work reflects a deep commitment to honouring the sacrifices and resilience of India's armed forces and their families.
Ambreen was recently selected as a member of the Military Writers Guild, USA, where she collaborates with leading military writers from around the world on military literature.
अम्बरीन ज़ैदी एक जानी-मानी पत्रकार और स्तंभकार हैं। टाइम्स ऑफ इंडिया, हिंदुस्तान टाइम्स और दैनिक भास्कर जैसे प्रमुख समाचार-पत्रों में भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों के भुला दिए गए नायकों और भोपाल गैस त्रासदी के पीडि़तों से संबंधित अपनी खबरों के लिए उनकी सराहना की गई। उन्होंने कई पुरस्कार भी जीते हैं। उन्होंने नैसकॉम फाउंडेशन और कई अन्य संस्थानों में वरिष्ठ पद पर काम किया है। वह दुनिया की पहली ब्लॉग पत्रिका ‘ब्लॉगर्स पार्क’ में उसकी संस्थापक संपादक रही हैं। वह नियमित रूप से राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रकाशनों के लिए लिखती हैं।
एक सैन्य अधिकारी की पत्नी होने के कारण अम्बरीन शहीदों की विधवाओं और अनाथों की भलाई में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाती रही हैं। अपने अनुभव और दक्षता का सदुपयोग करते हुए उन्होंने ‘द चेंजमेकर्स’ नामक संगठन की स्थापना की है, जहाँ वह और उनकी टीम शहीदों की विधवाओं, अनाथों और जरूरतमंद लोगों की पहचान, परामर्श और मार्गदर्शन करती है।
