Description

Laughing in the Shadow of Bullets is almost a four decades long ring side as also the grand stand view of the Army Life as seen, heard and experienced by a lady married to an Army Officer—an Infantry Soldier.
She recounts and recapitulates various hilarious incidents along with their manifestations and that apart from making you laugh bring to fore the unmistakable spirit to do or die that can be vividly seen only among these men of arms who are always ready to ‘slay or sacrifice’ when the trumpet blows and duty calls.
These pages in your hands thus afford you an introduction; a familiarisation to your Army. The narratives are primarily aimed at making you smile and are an attempt to dilute the adverse impact of contemporary interminable assault of tension on our collective life style.

The Author

Sunita Bali

Born and brought up in and around the National Capital Region (NCR), Mrs. Bali, professionally has been all through an academician. She surpassed all the existing records of the university when she won a Gold Medal with a ‘First Class First’ in M.Sc. (Zoology).
She opened her professional innings as a Lecturer in her own college immediately after doing her Post Graduation. Three decades later she called it a day after being Principal of various Army Schools around the country. Married to an Army Officer—Brigadier V.K. Bali. Sunita is widely travelled both within the country and abroad. Once free from her professional, social and family responsibilities she decided to share her experiences of Army Life with a broader aim of spreading a smile, and reduce the ill impact of present day tension that has somehow come to dominate our lives.
