Dr CP Thakur is a renowned doctor, scientist, humanitarian and politician from Bihar. Recipient of several national and international honours including the Padmashri and BC Roy Award, Dr Thakur has been a consultant with World Health Organization on Kala-azar for nearly three decades. A five-term Member of Parliament, he also served as Union Minister of Health, MSME and North East region.
डॉ. सीपी ठाकुर एक प्रसिद्ध चिकित्सक, वैज्ञानिक और राजनीतिज्ञ हैं। ‘पद्मश्री’ और ‘बी.सी. रॉय पुरस्कार’ सहित कई राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय सम्मान प्राप्त कर चुके डॉ. ठाकुर लगभग तीन दशक से कालाजार पर विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के सलाहकार हैं। वह पाँच बार संसद सदस्य रहे एवं केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री के साथ ही एम.एस.एम.ई. एवं उत्तर पूर्व क्षेत्र के मंत्री का भी कार्यभार सँभाला।
