Ashwani Lohani is from the Indian Railway Services and has the rarest of the rare distinction of having worked in and headed three premier organisations in the public sector namely Indian Railways, Air India and the India Tourism Development Corporation. He also worked as the Commissioner and Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism in three different spells; Director of Tourism in the Government of India; Divisional Railway Manager for Delhi; Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Northern Railway and the Director of the National Rail Museum besides other assignments.
Ashwani Lohani holds a Limca Record for his four engineering degrees in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.
